Mr. Donald Farmer

Principal

I graduated from Philomath High School.  I moved to Portland to study for the ministry.  I graduated from Warner Pacific College, where I met Rebecca.  We have been together since that day.  I graduated again from Warner Pacific with a Master of Religion degree, and I completed another Master Arts degree, this time in counseling at OSU with a strong emphasis in education.  We moved to Grants Pass and I began working as a school counselor in 1998 for the Three Rivers School District.  The 24 years I spent working in education have been very fulfilling for me.

Rebecca and I were married in 1982.  We have three children who are now grown adults.  We have two wonderful In-laws and six beautiful grandchildren.  They are all a joy to us.  I love to travel, I study history, and I love the ocean.  One of the highlights in my life was when our children sent us to England.  We were able to see Les Miserables in London (It was amazing).  We also went to the museums, historical places, and of course Abbey Road.

Life has been so good.  I know that the most important decision I made in life was when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  He has led me through many unbelievable awesome experiences. I find that even though I try to follow Christ each day, I often fall short and need his grace.  God is always faithful.  He never fails.  I look forward to guiding Kingsview Christian School and hope that together we can build on what others have already accomplished.  Hopeful, we impact students positively and prepare them for their journey through life with Christ guiding them.  Thank you for this opportunity to serve you.

Reading Specialist

I began teaching at Kingsview after retiring from the North Bend SD in 2015.  I love to read and get a great deal of joy watching children become readers.

I grew up on the farm my grandfather homesteaded.  Before my husband joined the Air Force, we lived in Washington, Montana, Vancouver Island, and Oregon.  While he was in the air force we lived in Texas, North Carolina, Alaska, Montana, North Dakota, and Idaho.  After he retired, we moved to Oregon and have been in North Bend since 1999. I have a daughter in Alaska and a son in Arizona.  The lord blessed me in many ways including being able to work at a place I enjoy and to do a job I truly love.

Born and raised in Canada (with a few years in Spain and Portugal),  I moved to the U.S. after graduating high school.  Wanting to be a teacher since I was 7 years old, I attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. I graduated with a B.A. in Educational Ministries and a minor in Bible.   I landed in North Bend in 2016, and married the love of my life, Gabriel Stephens, in 2020.   I am happy to be at Kingsview, where I can teach a rigorous education, and freely share about who Jesus is.

Mrs. Rebecca Farmer
Computer Teacher

This year I'm going to be your new Computer Teacher.

I am a certified teacher in Special Education, PE, and Health.  I have taught Special Education for the past 7 years.  I have been a coach on and off for the past 24 years in many sports.  Mostly Volleyball and Tennis for the middle school and high schools. I have coached 5th grade basketball for the Boys and Girls Club and softball for the High School.  As for Technology.  I worked for Three Rivers School District for 17 years as an Administrative Assistant in the Tech Department and the Curriculum Department at the District Office.  My main responsibilities were to teach teachers and administrators different computer programs.  Mostly Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint. I also did all of the state and special education testing in the district.  For the past 3 years I have been teaching as a special education teacher for Kairos and Family Solutions.  I retired from teaching when Kairos New Beginnings School closed in Grants Pass.

In my class all students will be taught the parts of the computer, how to type, different programs, and how to code.  Kindergarteners will be learning the parts of the computer, how to use the mouse and keyboard, how to turn on the computer and save files on the desktop.  They will also build a Legos robot and work with an older student to code robot.

1-7 grade will be introduced to programs like Google, MS office, and coding.  Students will learn how to create letters, research papers, financial budgets, presentations and will learn how to use Google, and the differences between google programs and MS office programs.  This year is going to be full of fun, excitement and lots of learning new things.
